Frequently Asked Questions
What expenses can be reimbursed as a surrogate?
Embrace Surrogacy follows the guidelines set out in the Assisted Human Reproduction Act of Canada (found here), which outlines reimbursements are allowed when they are pregnancy related expenses. Our surrogates will never be out of pocket for any expenses related to the surrogacy
Who can become a surrogate?
Most fertility clinics have guidelines they follow to increase the success of the pregnancy, but generally any woman that has had a successful pregnancy, is free from drugs/tobacco and is a Canadian citizen or permanent resident that leads a relatively healthy lifestyle is the ideal surrogate for Embrace Surrogacy. Surrogates can be professionals in the workplace, stay at home moms, parttime workers or entrepreneurs.
Do surrogates choose which intended parents they work with?
Yes. Surrogates working with Embrace Surrogacy will get to choose from the intended parents that are currently signed up with the agency to find the one that matches their values, shares their ideals about family, and has common interests.
